California District 54 Little League offers baseball, Challenger Baseball, and softball programs. The program includes Baseball, the Little League Challenger Division, the Senior League Challenger Division, and the Little League Softball program.

Programs for players in Baseball are offered for ages 4–16. The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4–18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school, and the Senior League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 15–22. The Little League Softball program includes divisions for girls ages 4–16. District 54 will play inter-district for some of the older divisions, generally the 50/70 and Senior division, and in post-season the winner in the District 54 All-Stars league will advance for section play. District 54 and Little League regulations require any volunteer with repetitive access to children to consent to a national criminal background check, which includes a check of the National Sex Offender Registry database.
The Little League Challenger Program was founded in 1989. The stated goal for the district is to meet or exceed the Little League Districts Standards and to support and lead the local leagues with eight listed areas: District Organization Structure, Communications, Responsiveness, Meetings, Education, League Reporting, and Monitoring, as well as Management of the International Tournament, Financial, and a Safety Awareness Program (ASAP). California District 54 Little League is a Non Profit California Corporation. The district supports 12 local leagues: Cosumnes River Little League, El Dorado Hills Little League, Divide Little League, Folsom American Little League, Folsom National Little League, Hangtown Little League, Lakeside Little League, Maidu Little League, Ponderosa Little League, Roseville West Little League, Snowline Little League, and Woodcreek Little League.
